Mission Statement for Walking with Moms - St. Thomas / St. John, East Lansing
- We are a culture of life supporting moms at all stages - including moms-to-be.
- As we help Mothers, we recognize their goodness, dignity and autonomy.
- We meet moms where they are emotionally and physically.
- We collaborate with other organizations in our community to support Moms financially, through service, love, and prayer.

You do not have to attend every meeting to be involved. Calls for assistance go out via email to keep everyone informed.Our greatest need is people
who are willing to Walk with a Mom.
Every mom we walk with should have two mentors/walkers. This way people can go in pairs.

Shared Pregnancy Shower Results
A Huge Thank You from Walking with Moms and Shared Pregnancy!
Thank you to everyone from our parish and the parishes in our Deanery who participated in the Shared Pregnancy Shower. Shared Pregnancy was very grateful for the generosity that everyone showed. Many of the items received were distributed instantly to a mother’s in need. Joining our communities together we made a bigger difference.
If you would like to continue supporting mothers in need please consider joining our Walking With Moms in Need ministry at St. Thomas/St. John. Our next meeting is on Saturday, Nov 16 at 10:00am at St. Thomas. We will be making tags for the Advent Giving Tree.
Here is what we collected:
8 Pack-n-Plays / 5 High Chairs / 4 Baby Monitors / 8 Pack-n-Play sheet sets / 6 Cribs / 6 Crib Mattresses / 6 Crib Sheet Sets / 3 Bouncy Seats / 2 Sit and Stand Stroller / 1 Double Stroller / 1 Baby Swing / 1 1 Humidifier / $175.00 to put towards their diaper fund.

What is WWMIN?
The Walking with Moms in Need ministry exists to come alongside and support any pregnant or parenting woman in need. Our goal is to provide resources, mentorship, support, and friendship to a mom going through difficult circumstances. We are happy to literally walk with her. The church does not cease being pro-life at birth. Rather, she continues to be pro-life until natural death. These pro-life efforts include supporting the mothers who choose life.Pregnant and parenting moms in need are in our parishes and our neighborhoods. As Pope Francis reminds us, our parishes need to be “islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of indifference.” Everyone in the parish community should know where to refer a pregnant woman in need. Inspired by St. John Paul II’s to assess our efforts in building a culture of life, the intention of Walking with Moms in Need is to increase our outreach to pregnant and parenting women facing difficulties.

Guide us as we strive to make our parish communities places of welcome and assistance for mothers in need. Help us become instruments of God’s love and compassion.
Mary, Mother of the Church, graciously help us build a culture of life and a civilization of love, together with all people of good will, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. Amen.
